AND WHY I CALL MYSELF A BOHO CELEBRANT

Are you engaged and looking for a celebrant?

Covering the spectacular Cassowary coast , all the way from Port Douglas toTownsville, I offer beautiful custom made wedding ceremonies to match your need.

When I started being a celebrant, I quickly realized that what made me happiest was not the traditional, cookie-cutter ceremonies, but the weddings that embraced individuality and creativity, the ones where couples could express their unique love stories.

That’s where the boho vibe came in. If you're not familiar with the term, boho (short for bohemian) refers to a free-spirited, laid-back, and unconventional style. It’s all about embracing nature, art, and authenticity, and this is exactly the kind of wedding I love to create for my couples. Think outdoor ceremonies with flowing fabrics, natural flowers, intimate settings, and heartfelt vows.

Being a boho celebrant means that no two weddings are ever the same. For me, it’s about blending tradition with personal touches whether it’s a handfasting ritual, a personalized poem, or a moment of silence to honor loved ones who couldn’t be there. It’s about making the ceremony as much a reflection of the couple’s personalities as it is a celebration of their love.

I’m not the kind of celebrant who stands at a podium reading from a script. Instead, I like to make it your ceremony. I get to know each couple on a personal level. I ask about how they met, what they love about each other, what makes their relationship so special, and what their dreams are for the future. From there, I craft a ceremony that’s full of meaning, joy, and, of course, a little bit of magic. For me, it’s all about creating an atmosphere that allows the couple and their loved ones to feel relaxed, connected, and present in the moment.

One of my favorite parts of being a boho celebrant is the setting. Outdoor ceremonies are a huge part of this style, whether it’s a sunlit field, a beach at sunset, or a forest surrounded by trees. Nature has this incredible ability to bring people together and create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, and I love incorporating that into the weddings I officiate.

But it’s not just the setting or the rituals that make these ceremonies special, it’s the vibe. I work with my couples to create a ceremony that feels like them, whether that’s adding in personal symbols, infusing humor into the vows, or designing a ceremony that feels like a celebration of life as much as it is a celebration of love. We keep it light, we keep it real, and we make sure it’s a moment that everyone will remember.

I also believe in the power of words. The vows, the promises, the speeches, they’re all such an important part of the day. As a celebrant, I help couples craft vows that are deeply personal and meaningful, not just the typical "love you forever" lines, but real, raw expressions of commitment and hope for the future. To me, those words are magic. They have the power to bring people to tears, to make everyone feel like they’ve witnessed something truly special. It’s a privilege to help create those moments.

Finally, I want to talk about why I think the boho approach is so meaningful. In a world that’s often too busy and too stressed, the boho style encourages slowing down, embracing simplicity, and focusing on what really matters. It’s about love, connection, and authenticity. It’s about creating a ceremony that feels true to who you are, not just who you think you’re supposed to be on your wedding day.

As a boho marriage celebrant, I get to help couples bring that vision to life, and it’s honestly the most fulfilling job I could imagine. To be there with people on one of the most important days of their lives, guiding them through a ceremony that’s uniquely theirs, is an honor I don’t take lightly.

So, whether you envision a barefoot ceremony under the stars, an intimate gathering by a lake, or a celebration filled with laughter and heartfelt words, I’m here to help you craft the ceremony of your dreams!
